Looks nice. Why all the sand? Thanks Jeff. I tried BB but didn't like the look of it, even though i know about the added benefits of having a BBT. I tried black sand and didn't like it so i took it out, and finally went with fiji pink.

I like it. I only asked because I'm thinking of doing the same thing with my next set up. More sand like you have. Can't wait to see it fill in.

Im actually thinking about adding ANOTHER layer of sand to my tank....I have the bigger grain stuff on top but not really liking the wait it looks. Soo i might just mix it up instead of 2 dual layers (fine sugar grain on bottom and the "special reef aragonite" on top... THAN after its mixed add another layer op top of the white sand...Just so it can be cleaned easier by the CUC....we'll see... Now i just need to get one of those old school gravel pumps so i can mix it as im doing a water change..

be careful when you stir the sand bed. its possible to kill all your fish and coral.

Well i would be using a suction pump to mix it. Basically the water thats mixing the sand will be expelled out of the system (and replaced with fresh saltwater). And my system isnt "old" so im thinking it doesnt have a bad build up of toxins in the sand... Anyone have a thought on this?

The newest addition to the tank. And I really like the acclimate, this thing does it all.
