Yeah, HIGH salinity! My JBJ meter (the one that looks like a giant thermometer) It went outta whack. Kept saying that my salinity was fine even after i recalibrated it with the solution provided. Soo asking for someone to test my phosphate, mag ect ect, I asked him to check my salinity and he said it was 1.034! Soo he recalibrated his refractometer and it said the same thing again... Grrrrrrr...Either way, Its stable now after changing out 25 gallons of saltwater with fresh water... A few things are still closed or no polyp extension or brown... But they are there. Slowly but surley ill get it back :-)

Brent, your tank is looking great. IME, as SPS tanks ovegrow and pass out of the "stationary phase", they require a lot more work just to prevent STN. It might be due to blockage of flow by larger colonies, the depletion of some unknown limiting factor, or excess biological warfare agents in the water. But IME to prevent "old tank syndrome" ive always had to increase the frequency and amounts of water changes, incrase flow increase feedings, increases skimming and increase biofiltration. Also, increase fraggin- but I can see youre expert at that

Thanks for the input. Im battling hair algae issues. Close to having a tank crash. 1st my skimmer blows. The pump is dieing and dont have the funds for a new one. 2nd my ro/di was spitting out 13 tds water, 3rd was my gfo reactor was unplugged, 4th i was feeding WAYYY too much!! I did a fluke tab treatment on my tank to rid my tank of the UGLY red clove polyps. Worked GREAT. I have taken out 90% of my CUC and macro algaes out and put them in a spare tank, As well as my clams and leathers. Soo they are just chilling outside enjoying the filtered sunlight. I turned my skimmer on on friday and is actually pulling gunk. Put the gfo and carbon back online. And tomorrow im doing a 30 gallon water change than another 20 on thursday than i can put everything back in and shouldnt have to worry (crossing fingers) Soo once im done cleaning the tank and making it tip top again ill post some new pics :-)
