Hey Pres, i prob dont want a trade as i think IF i keep the FOWLR tank itll be a crosshatch trigger pair & perhaps 1-2 other really colorfull fish, perhaps another high-end angel.
That austrailian harlequin tusk is 5-6inches long and 1.5years old, i got from miguel @rainbow for $150, but at this point i would just be happy for him to have a happy home. He is a little shy, and will eat freeze dried krill, live shrimp & live goldfish aggressively, but takes NLS large pellets fine. He needs crustacean or his vision gets bad. Dave @vivid had 2 3-4inch indian ocean tuskfish in his 800 and they did fine.

Hi Ray Ray... How big are those salt mixing containers? D, so sorry for the lag response. They are 65gallons each. I got them online for a decent price but the shipping cost as much as the containers. You can get the same ones at a plastic place somewhere near fullerton, or near the 57fwy I hear. Anyway, they are all plumbed in together and have saved me a lot of time. I love them!

finally got the frag tanks going.
Free pink pocilliopora frags next time (if I ever get the chance) to meet with you guys. I started with a small colony 6 years ago, now there are 6 fist-sized colonies and 20 little guys all over... like a weed!
I also acquired this black tang, just went into QT (used to be one of 2 from Dave at Vivid)

I had to get translucent because when I used the blue 55g drums, I found the saltwater empty sometimes after I acclimated a bunch of stuff, LOL.
If I had unlimited space I would have bought a 220g container. Then once every 2 months dump in a whole bucket of 200g tropic marin pro to avoid settling errors.
65g good for 50g mix bags like reef crystals or IO, that come in the 200g boxes. Or 200g for the Red Sea Coral Pro 175g mix, etc.
Any size is good for the RO freshwater. But it doubles as emergency drinking water, so I always keep it full. My Tunze ATO pumps are also in there, and the so is the supply line to my dosers.

are you still getting a gem tang? Thanks. Dave's guys gave me a real deal on the black tang. Im naming him Darth Tang. Sometime I would like a gem tang, not until the kids are out of college. If I hit my head really hard and loose all common sense, I might agree to one of 5 guys looking to sell one to me. Ill pass on another idol. I actually tried 2 small MIs before, and they fought so I had to give one away. Yours is bigger. The enemy of good enough is better.

Ive been working on the fuge late night. Growing mangroves and sea grass.
I need another 6 inches of mangroves then they go in the rocks and DSB.
Do you see me?
About 25 strands of manatee grass and 25 turtle grass. Its hard finding different types of grasses. A little higher density on the seagrasses and then my tunze baby wavebox goes in for that swaying motion.
Im actually having to use fertilizer as they are using up all my N, P & organics. Regular iron as well. Very heavy feeding of the DT help.
Work in progress...
As for the DT, I moved in my chevron tang from the fuge. He survived the introduction. Got a colorful baby chevron on order for the fuge, LOL!

I got a baby chevron last week for the seagrass fuge, to replace his older brother whose cruising in the the DT.
and Darth Tang is doing well. I got some comments that the previous pic he looked like a scopas tang or hybrid scopas, but nope, hes all black tang. he was just stressed but now hes eating like a pig. Still too small (& expensive) to let loose with the other fish with scalpels.

Thanks Lawrence.
Im finding coral keeping kinda boring, this fuge is a throwback to planted tank keeping. But its doing an excellent job in keeping nutrients at zero. In fact every few weeks the manatee grass starts turning purple, telling me its running low on nitrates. So I can basically feed the DT fish and coral as much as I want.
Its getting to be springtime, so shoal grass becomes available. That will complete my trio of common grasses. In a year, when they spread you are welcome to some. Manatee grass is indigenous to the philippines. It has grown to 14-18 inches! & sways hypnotically back and forth.
I have my calcium reactor effluent enter the fuge. That extra CO2 really accelerated all the plants growth. Since the fuge light is on 16hours per day and superbright, it grows phytoplankton well for the coral. Pods grow well. My mandarin named Sun Tzu, is fat, and there are plenty of pods for the DT. The chevron tang is required to graze microalgae from the plants blades, or photosynthesis is decreased. I may put 1-2 seahorses in there when the grass grows. Its a great complimentary ecosystem to the DT SPS reef.
