I think it would be a neat idea if we had some reef tools that the club members could share. For instance, we can have a Par meter, phosphate tester, fish trap or other things that would be useful for all of us. We could set up a fund for purchasing these items for the club. Also paid members would be able to use them for free with a deposit while non-paid members could use them with a small fee and deposit.
What do you all think about that?

I like this idea. Maybe next year we can try having a raffle or something to earn a little money and use some of that.

how about some refractometer calibration fluid? so we can tell whether our refractos measure salinity accurately. i always used ro/di or distilled to zero it out, but i always wonder...
i think a bottle is around $7-$9... more than i want to pay for a couple drops every so often. but if enough of us wonder the same about our refractos, maybe we can get a club bottle and charge .15 or .25 cents to test. can easily bring the bottle to our meetings and test there so we don't have to worry about it going to someone's house never to be seen again...
anyway, just a thought.

Oh yeah I like that idea a lot. We definitely have enough funds to get some calibration fluid. And at that price I don't think we really need to charge to use it. I can just bring it to the meetings and whoever needs to use it there can use it. I'll see about ordering some for the next meeting. Thanks Mike!

We may have to wait on the par meter for a bit. We still need to get a new banner for the club. But if you see a good deal on one let me know. I can fron the money for the par meter if we find a good deal.

How many more member can we get before we can buy a par meter Since there is a lot of members that wants to switch to a different lights So we can compare metal halide 250, 400 , bulbs , t5 and 1 watts LEDs and 3 watts Cree
