Well.... I just got a gift in the mail... :-) Can anyone say Upgrade??? It will be 95, 3 watt leds over my main. Meanwell drivers. All dimmable. 50 royal blue, 25 cool white, 10 cyan, 5 red and 6 uv. My frag tank will have 16 royal blue, 10 cool white, 5 cyan and 1 red all dimmable as well...Ohh and 80 degree optics Now gotta buy aluminum for heat sinks. My goal is to keep the lights around 50% as that way i wont have to run fans. Now to design it... How would YOU configure the leds... In pucks or straight lines? How long can i have the wires from the drivers to the LEDs? I would like to build a separate box where i can store the drivers so they wont be sitting on top on the heatsink or should i just have them on top? As far as heatsinks... Should i do c channel or plates of aluminum? I was thinking having it 36"-40"x 8-12" Any and all input is appreciated.

Keep the things apart. That way if the drivers get hot they wont heat the LEDs and heat kills LEDs.

I need help setting up LEDs. I want to retrofit my ATI Power Module by replacing 8 of the 10 bulbs with LEDs. I want to run the LEDs in strips.
Rows: (1) philips royal blue (2)UV (3)T5 Fiji purple (4) philips red (5) philips royal blue (6) T5 actinic (7) philips green (8) philips cool white, cyan, blue (9) philips royal blue (10) philips royal blue
I want to be able to control each strip of color individually with my apex controller.
My questions; what will I need to make this possible? How many LEDs on each strip? how far apart do they have to be?
I'm buying everything from STEVESLEDS.com
