Running 4 10W LED emitters with no optics 12" above the water. Emitters are (one each) 6500K, 7000K, 10000K, and one blue - 550nm, not sure of the temperature. I have the 6500K dimmed so that the tank doesn't look yellow/green. Measure the PAR at various points and was very surprised - just below the emitters ~275, 3" below the surface ~70, 5" ~50, 12" ~30. (Lowered fixture by 4" and the readings went up ~20 each. From what I have read these are really low PAR readings, but the corals look happy and the tank looks reasonably well lit to my untrained eye. I am new, so I don't really have any idea of how to assess growth rates - the tank is about 4 months old, so the frags are all pretty new. Any thoughts/suggestions for me to help get the lighting right?

You might wana try turning up the levels. You want to have around 50 par on your sand bed. As far as the frags, just keep them where they are the happiest. Of course the sps Is more light demanding.
