Ok, tank has been running for 7 months, so I guess it is time for trouble to start: A nice chalice suddenly bleached - not sure if it is dead, but probably.. it began to die back where it grew into a mushroom, and was completely white in three days. Is this a typical cause of death by biowar, or is it likely a case of "sometimes corals die?" Another chalice 2 inches away is doing fine. Also: I am running GFO per TLF instructions re: flow rate and quantity of GFO - I'm running it in the same reactor as carbon, and barely tumbling at all to avoid pulverizing the GFO. I have noticed my dKH has dropped to 7 from 8 - I do 12% water changes every week. Calcium is still 400. Should I be dosing with anything to bring the dKH up? Any advice on any of this would be greatly appreciated.

Did you happen to put your new leds online? Maybe your lights too strong? Mine bleached out so i turned down my intensity and put them in the shade. They are slowly coloring up again

No, the only changes would be the slight dKH drop, and a 1 degree temperature drop - my heater element died. The eyes on the chalice are still visible, so maybe there is hope - I'm just worried about the tank crashing on me if I don't head off problems
