I live in Sherman Oaks and want to learn as much as possible about saltwater tank's. I have done planted tanks for 2+ years and consider myself on the verge of becoming an advanced aqua scapist. I have done my research and know the basics about how to setup and run a saltwater tank but I don't want to make any silly mistakes . I recently purchased a 225 gallon glass aquarium, euro braced w/ black silicone. I will try to upload some photos as soon as possible. I would like some help and input about what I should think through before I start building the stand. I want to learn from your mistakes. By mistakes I mean things that you regret not doing when you just set up you saltwater tank. Any info will be appreciated ;D

hey mark! welcome!
it might help to have some more details about your tank and the general concept you have in mind. Like will it be a peninsula tank? what are the tank dimensions? ballpark budget? can you make holes in your house walls?
one thing for me, in my stand for my 60 cube, i wish my stand had another access panel in addition to the front door of the stand. it would be handy to have another way to get into the sump and for water changes.

Welcome to the insanity. If you haven't heard of Mr. SaltWater Tank, you might go through his site for some tips. He has a live Q & A session on Mondays, and this weeks was about large tanks. He hasn't put the latest one up, but it should be up in the next day or so. www.mrsaltwatertank.com/2013/12/
