I'm bummed about your tank crash. It was soo amazing. How are things doing now? How come you ditched the Vortechs?

The tank is slowly making a comeback. Some of the members donated some corals so I could test the stability of the tank. It's been a month since I received the coral and so far so good.
The vortechs were too loud for my taste. I went with some tunzes insteAd and couldn't be happier with the flow they create, and they are super silent, plus controllable with the apex controller I use.

So are you still thinking of switching to LEDs Im sticking with T5's for another 5 years. I did the math and the price of the LEDS is far greater than the cost of bulbs and electricity for me. Once the prices come down I will make the switch or use both T5 and LEDs. ;D

I made a stupid mistake. I forgot to adjust my dosing pump and accidentally raised my calcium to 600. I lost 2 milli colonies because of it. Another lesson learned, if your going to raise any element make sure you remember to switch it back once youve reached your desired goal. I shut off the ca dosing pump so the ca comes down slowly. Last thing I want to do is a water change and cause a tank crash because of a fast swing in parameters. Aside from those two millies, everything else is doing great.

Algae is no match for RxCarbon and BioPellets. My tank was being invaded by hair algae and no matter how many snail I bought, how many gobies gave their lives, nothing was working. I began to notice the hair algae soon as the bio pellets were running super low (nearly gone). Soon as I received the brs order I quickly added the carbon and bio pellets. 3 days later the hair algae is nearly gone. That was fast!!

Bry and I just ordered LED's from www.aquastyleonline.com/. Once we get it built, we'll let you know how it went... super cheap! We paid $100 for a 36LED kit that will be modifiable for the 240. We'll need approximately 3 more 36 kits to light the 240, but it's WAY cheaper than Crees.

I am very happy today. I went to P.F.I. to leave a deposit and final plans for my new sump. 50x28x18 is going to add some good and needed water volume to the system.
