i think this idea was kicked around at one of our meetings, but wanted to revive it before it's forgotten. i know we have a few vendors/stores near us (i.e. FF, Stewarts, Vivid) maybe on weekends we don't have meetings we can arrange for a club tour. Keep it to a handful or 2 of members so it's manageable and not burdensome on the vendors/stores. No skin off their backs except for the time it takes to talk about their systems etc. and maybe they get a sale or 2. you guys did one for garretts acropolis (that i missed b/c it was too far away). i know www.fragglereef.com/zen/ is pretty close by (near the 405 and 10 interchange) and brian (the owner) is pretty cool and i'm sure wouldn't mind having a few people by. he runs it out of his garage, but he has some serious frag tanks. might consider them as a potential sponsor and i know he offers discounts to some clubs (like NR and scnrs). it's another good way to get our name out there w/ local shops/vendors and to show we have some serious members. food for thought.

Thank you for bringing that up Mike. Actually we are currently planning out some field trips/ tours. We are waiting until we have confirmed dates before posting info about them. But we will be going to Fantastic Frags some time this summer and I plan on making another trip to Garrett's Acropolis. We are also contacting potential sponsors right now and Fraggle Reef is on our list.

cool. i've been to fraggle reef a few times and purchased quite a few pieces over the years. brian's always been hospitable and easy to talk to and he usually has killer frags and reasonable prices.
i think he also has bagged specials where if you come in and buy the piece before he unbags it (when he gets back from wholesale) he'll sell it cheap, like whole colonies. just have to know when he's going, haha.
