Hey Jeff! I've been doing some fly fishing out here. Here's my first Grayling ever: And here is a nice big one I got later that day: I'm going to try going for Salmon on the River Tweed in the Summer.

I would scale it and blacken it served with some cheesy polenta. Eating freshwater fish raw isnt a good idea because you can get nasty parasites more easily. Same with the likes of barracuda in the ocean.

Haha yeah I wish I had your culinary skills Brent. I caught trout at a fishery a couple months ago; And I made fried trout with mango salsa:

Mango salsa is awesome Dee. If you're ever in the Hollywood area there is a Thai restaurant right off the 101 free way called Palms. There fried trout with mango salsa is amazing. Seriously have to try it. Also sometimes they have Thai Elvis impersonators perform. It's a neat place.

Thing is with mango salsa is it has to be done right with the correct ripeness of the mango and habaneros for the heat and fruityness. I made mango salsa WAYYY before it became "popular". The store bought stuff is yucky..LOL And Richard, As my saying goes. Cooking is an interpretation of ones self. What i mean by that is cooking is the way YOU make it. Some people might love my food others might hate it. But i made it with love and i know i like it. But that trout, Get some butter and pan fry it and garnish with lemon... Easy and yummy... Or brine it and slow smoke it.... And with whats leftover flake it and mix it into softened cream cheese and make a bagle spread...Yummy... Trust me i can keep going heheh

Went back to the Clyde River with a friend I met here who is into fly fishing and photography. He took this picture of a brown trout I caught:

Trout season just opened on the Water of Leith which is a stream that runs through the heart of Edinburgh. I've been waiting to fish this stream for a long time and I finally got a chance to. I went fishing with a German student I met here. Here are the results: And a picture of a stretch of the stream: Anyway since I can't afford to have a reef tank here I've switched over to my other passion which is fly fishing. Jeff if you ever come to Scotland I can show you some nice waters!
