I wish he would have also included PAR readings in this article. Spectrum is good, but that really only measures the color of the light output rather than the intensity as well.

PAR info is offered in the articles i linked.
But PAR/intensity is a simpler issue than spectrum produced. Simply add more units, lower the lights, move coral up, etc. spectrum is inherent to the material used, electrical setup, age, etc.
Whats even more complex is the biology: what coral need in nature to thrive, and what we can get away with in our tanks.
