Do they sell tanks at the wholesale places? If so how much are 40 gallon breeder tanks? I need like 4 of them. I am waiting for the dollar per gallon tank sale at petco but I am running out of time and need those tanks soon as possible. I'm losing money every day I don't get my next breeding project started.

Hey Rob what will you be breeding? Usually standard tanks (non-custom) are sold with very low markup so wholesale prices are not much cheaper. The reason pet stores do this is because if they marked up their tanks as much as other products they would become prohibitively expensive for many potential fish keepers. Thus they sell them at low markup to get people into the hobby so that they will by other aquarium things.
As Detane said you could get a custom build from "wholesale" but custom will always be more expensive. Another option is building your own tank. All you need to do is find a good glass place and ask them to cut glass to the size you need. Make sure you ask them to polish the edges. Then use aquarium silicone to put it all together. Not very hard and saves money. Plus you can have custom dimensions without the custom price.
