Blehhhhh it is warming up in LA. I don't like it. My room is like a greenhouse and get's especially hot. Even though I have a chiller on my tank it seems my corals aren't too happy either. How is everyone else's tank dealing with this sudden heat?

I hear you on the heat bro.. For my tank the temp stays steady and the chiller hasnt turned on yet. Just keep your windows open if possible. And if your chiller is on try reducing its on time by insulating the tubes and if possible placing the chiller outside.

Yeah opening the windows only makes my room hotter. I guess the main reasons why my room is so hot is because the outside of my room is an eastward facing wall and I have a thin roof (I think) so the heat just collects from the sun and radiates into my room. I can't put the chiller outside either since I am on the second floor haha. What I usually do in the summer is block all the light coming into my room and run a evaporative cooler. I just wasn't prepared for the sudden heat. I may invest in a larger chiller as well.

Haha yeah my AC is on but it's central air and for some reason it doesn't cool down the room that the tank is in very much.
I just got a tunze aquawind so I will see if it helps out.

Nic and I are ready for summer! Picked up a 1/10th HP chiller for our 40gal...just a bit overkill.

Even with 4 metal halide last summer I don't have a chiller thanks to apex and plastic fan !

Is your place naturally chilly or do you just run the AC a lot?
